drawing classes
on learning how to draw
The first set of classes started in 2023 as a pilot-project pitched to Nasjonalmuseet’s educational department, after which they became official in the museum’s program for every last saturday of the month. In addition to these monthly drop-in classes, other concepts were also explored in two of Oslo’s Culture Nights and two of the museum’s Halloween Nights.
After three years, the project is exploring other artists’ approaches to experimental drawing & creative processes. In turn, the experience attained here has already taken shape in other similar workshop formats in Portugal (do Mar), Humlebæk (TBA) and Berlin (Forecast Platform).
The pedagogical approach focused on unlearning habits that can hinder a healthy and sustainable learning process, by balancing one’s self-criticism through an unconditional acceptance of “mistakes”.
