Nasjonalmuseet’s educational department, after which they became official in the museum’s program for every last saturday of the month. In addition to these monthly drop-in classes, other concepts were also explored in two of Oslo’s Culture Nights and two of the museum’s Halloween Nights. After three years, the project is exploring other artists’ approaches to experimental drawing &amp; creative processes. In turn, the experience attained here has already taken shape in other similar workshop formats in Portugal (do Mar), Humlebæk (TBA) and Berlin (Forecast Platform). The pedagogical approach focused on unlearning habits that can hinder a healthy and sustainable learning process, by balancing one’s self-criticism through an unconditional acceptance of During my exchange program with AHO, on the studio Positions, we were proposed to design a space for meeting, co-exist, and Love, exploring our view on the meaning behind this word, along with other numerous concepts within and around it. Moreover, if the project “required” we were to place it in a real or fictional site to strengthen its character and conceptual argumentation. &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; I started with exploring this tree-like structure as a threshold between the ground and the sky employing one of the essential and primordial elements of architecture - the roof.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; This roof would suffice in the creation of a space distinct from everything it was surrounded by, while at the same time taking advantage of the nature-given architectural elements (rocks and vegetation), that could hinge the transition between more secret or more open spaces. Furthermore, the dwelling itself could be established with a simple camping mat and sleeping bag, with a tent or anything else that the user willed upon the circumstances of this space. Communal feelings would then arise naturally as people shared this place with nature, and nature with them. Having this in mind, I then selected a site that immediately came to my mind, for being in my heart. In two gestures I aimed to achieve a union between the differing site morphologies and building principles, whilst taking advantage of the southern landscape that encompassed a view of the Douro River. The core of this union would be represented through the use of the cloister typology in the core of the project as a place for meetings with others and with ourselves, sheltered from the northern street noise. The topography of the terrain, being steep as it is, required an adaptation from the building to make it fit ‘naturally’. The buildings, thus, form a protecting wall surrounding the inner garden, while letting some eastern morning light shine through a specially placed crack. There was research made in the several typologies that could solve what these site circumstances offered, as well as a deeper exploration into the design of separate apartments, and the typological option taken was that of vertical distribution. Consisting of two volumes that dialogue with each other and the city around them, this construction aimed at being&nbsp;easily and intuitively accessed by the city users. We see the volume of the cultural center next to a sloped street taking its angle of inclination while providing for a crossing to be made from this side to the other side where the river lies. Similarly, the residence building also liberates itself from the ground, to allow urban permeability whilst maintaining user privacy in the living quarters. The house has a west and an east entrance and is divided into two areas, a common area with a living/eating area, and a private dwelling area, with the three respective rooms. This private dwelling area accompanies the steeper side of the terrain, and so, the roof on this side is tilted, relating to the nature of the topography.
